to The Guild of Scholars of the City of London
Annual Assembly and Dinner
Wednesday 21st March 2007
Held at the City of London Girls School this event proved enjoyable as ever. Thanks must go to the ensemble from the school who gave an excellent recital on our arrival, to the Head and Governors of the school for making the facilities available to us and the catering staff who provided us with an excellent meal. Old acquaintances met up and new friends were made. Towards the end of the evening the Guild presented a bouquet of flowers to Dr Yvonne Burne to wish her well on her retirement (accepted by Andrew Douglas on her behalf). The conversation flowed almost as fast as the wine and there was even time for some of the members and guests to retire to a nearby hostelry to continue the evening. The highlight of our event year proved, once again, to be a very relaxed and amusing evening. If you have not attended the Annual Assembly dinner before, then I highly recommend that you make time for next years. Truly an event not to be missed.
